Youth Pre-Employment Training

ETTI's YPET program helps unemployed junior high school graduates develop the skills and confidence they need to find jobs in the region's growing tourism and hospitality industry. The live-in program offers participants free tuition, food and lodging.

Participants receive intensive training in Chinese and English literacy, computing, basic accounting, customer service and life skills such as preparing CVs and attending job interviews. The teaching method emphasizes student initiative and problem-solving skills. YPET students also participate in on-the-job training with ETTI's industry partners.

The employment success rate for YPET graduates is above 90 percent. Since 2005 ETTI has helped more than 300 unemployed youth start new careers in tourism.
